Help us to brighten
a child’s world
Help us create memories for families affected by
hardship. Make a difference by contributing
to the 2024 Susan Roskell Toy & Gift Drive.
Support
With so many children to help, making a donation in lieu of a gift can help purchase additional gifts for age categories that are often overlooked.
Play
Recognising the remarkable power of play, we aim to create as many happy faces and smiles as possible, by providing toys to these children, who would most often go without.
Sponsor
All of our event partners receive the highest recognition for their support. We have packages to suit all businesses and budgets.
Welcome to the Susan Roskell Memorial Toy & Gift Drive 2024
Being a child in disadvantaged circumstances can have detrimental effects on their mental health and wellbeing which hinders them from making the most out of life.
Sometimes a simple gesture of kindness through gifts and toys can be enough to help them cope through their challenges while providing ease to their families and carers knowing that these children can still enjoy beautiful moments in life.
about mum...
Growing up as a child we saw mum work two and three jobs to make ends meet for my brother and me. It was a hard life that meant that I as a child of 12 looking after my little brother at night whilst mum worked. We were always safe, but I was not afforded a childhood like other kids.
We saw things happen to mum that no child should see happen. Mum however always powered on. As we grew older and had our own children mum was always around to help and forever making sure our kids had everything (not that they needed it) as we had turned out okay and were capable of supporting our kids.
As a person mum was always so generous for any good cause that would arrive, helping so many others, even to the point of her own detriment. Thousands and thousands of dollars was spent on causes every year.
In 2020, mum was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and being the fighter, she was battled on bravely until her passing on the 28th October 2021. At the completion of the 2021 Toy and Gift Drive the name of the Toy Drive was changed to the Susan Roskell Toy and Gift Drive and will stay this way to continue to help those kids and their families in need every year.

Will Make A Difference!
Support from yourself, or on behalf of someone else, helps us make a difference to those who need it most!
about us...
2024 marks the 9th year of the Toy Drive!
In 2016, a request from the local Reading Cinema to support struggling families during the festive season saw the Sheldon family, Todd, Penny and Lachlan; donating wrapped gifts to a wishing Tree and from this the idea of an annual Toy Drive was born.
With each year since the first toy drive in 2016, the donations have steadily increased with thousands of Toys and Gifts being donated.
The donated toys and gifts are provided to local charities and organisations, including the Farmers Run in 2019 and most recently, Got Your Back Sista in 2020.
Our main focus has always been families affected by Domestic Violence and this will always be very important.
This year, 2024, we will be broadening our support to include families affected by Mental Health and to provide support to families that have stepped up to take care of children in the event that mum and or dad are unable. We will also be looking at widening our areas of support.
It is heartening to see that with every year, the support from the community and small businesses has grown which enables us to support the ever-increasing number of families that are seeking support and assistance.
We also have families who take it upon themselves to organise their own drives to support the Annual Toy and Gift Drive.
Once again, so many local businesses, community and sporting clubs have volunteered to be drop off points for people wishing to donate new, unwrapped toys and gifts.
